Sospiri is spinning up a very exciting program this winter, which will be twirling your way on Friday, May 5th! Though dance music pervades the early music repertoire, in this concert we will be bringing it front and center with live dancers!
From dances of the French courts to English and Scottish country dances, we will explore influences and borrowings amongst these forms, as well as in vocal and instrumental works of the baroque era. Sarabandes, gigues, strathspeys, reels — don’t miss this opportunity to see them danced in historical style with period instruments.
