Spring has ever been an invocation to renew our enjoyment of life’s pleasures! Love, dancing, drinking, nature – this program is a bacchanalian feast for the ears that will get your toes tapping away the last vestiges of winter. Using historical instruments and practices, Sospiri will present the music from the renaissance and early baroque by such composers as Monteverdi (including the famous Zefiro torna duet), Strozzi, Frescobaldi, Josquin, Sermisy, de Literes, Arañes, as well as selections from the 16th-century Spanish manuscript Cancionero de Palacio.
