Sospiri di Follia – Sunday

Spring madness may have come early to Minnesota this year, but Sospiri will still be reveling in it on April 27th and 28th with our much anticipated concert, Sospiri di Follia!

Folly, craziness, madness — we have recognized the power of these altered mental states through the ages. In the renaissance and baroque eras, it was a call for some of the most lively inventions in music. From folias set to repeating bass lines, to tarantellas that could supposedly cure insanity brought on by a spider bite, to mad songs and rage scenes — Sospiri will explore the gamut of madness in music.

Sospiri will be honored to feature the extraordinary baroque cellist Tulio Rondón on this program, as well as readings by the eloquent Jake Endres.

Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door, and are $25 or pay-as-able.
